Waist Belt Plate, Ascribed to New York Light Guard - Circa 1865-1890

Gilt cast brass plate with die-struck tiger’s head secured by two rivets. Identical tiger’s head appears on other New York Light Infantry insignia, however, the Boston Light Infantry and a number of “TIGER” units around the country employed a similar emblem.
