Made from 7-8-oz. oak tanned
stout harness leather. It is 10" long x 5-1/2" deep in the
center to 6" deep at blade end. The bottom is filled with 3/4"
layers of sewn leather at handle end and 1/4" thick layers of
leather sewn at edge end. There are 2 straps to hold axe head in place,
fastened with japanned roller buckles, and a 4' 5" long x 1"
wide carrying sling fastened with a 1-1/4"Japanned roller buckle
with a loop to hold the handle.
